I will never forget the joke about the "Hard Cash Trio + 1" Old Tennis Shoes were not only great musicians, they were exuberant and charismatic. Miss you guys ! xxxx

I am an american who use to hang out at the Last Waterhole about 25 years ago. Loved you guys....Hey Volkhard..........
Can't believe I found this site...remember you from when I went to Preston Poly 76-79. Great band! Didn't you used to play the Duck Inn by the station and do a version of Strangered in the Night by Tom Petty? All the best fellers!
I always thought it was called Strangers In The Night so I Googled Tom Petty's 1977 version and I have to say that OTS's is tons better.
Hi Andy, some great nights in the Dog and Partridge :)
see you next time in amsterdan
I was living in Amsterdam during the Seventies and I saw Old Tennis Shoes many times. They were one of the best rock bands ever, anywhere on the planet.
I was privileged to see them and will never forget it. Keep a Rockin' guys you always be the best to me! Eddy.

Still a Fan of yours and its good to see

Oh my god I can't believe I found a web site on you guys. I saw you guys play in the Waterhole so many times and loved what you did so very very much. I lived there and worked for John, "the owner" for awhile in the 82 to 83 era. To this day your song strangers in the night has been on my mind and I play it often myself, of course I was way off on the words and all the music until now, haha I am planning on coming back to that part of the world an meeting up with someone I loved so very much during that time and I will do everything I can do to find out if you are playing anywhere and hook up with you guys again to see "THE SHOW"
You guys rocked then and hope to ROCK with you again. OTS fan forever.
omg, Uschi :))) how nice to see that name again, i remember you yes serving drinks with a smile. and so cool old tennisshoes have this site. would love to see you guys play again. Last Waterhole, ah,brings back many memories, for me it was late seventees and beginning of the eightees. good times and bad times, but never dull. and the music >> tennisshoes rocked! especially last set when the whole band would go full blast, awsome! thanks for those times. :)
Guys this is weird... I've met you in a town called Groningen... About 25 years ago... And our bands crossed eachother... I think I had a night with your tourmanager and a guitarist at my place downing a lot of beer... Grolsch! Them explaining to me what grotty meant! In those days I was the drummer of a Dutch band called Nurse! Including the exclamation mark! LOL! We had fun together in Groningen... And the best part was that I went to Amsterdam and bumped into you lot again! From what I remember? Great crew and band and the music was great too!
Greets from the past!

Great to see the band online, and live again. You've got a proud history, so it's good to see it available. Greetings from Oz.
Great to find OTS on the web.. I spent many nights watching them at the Waterhole in Amsterdam, and the odd gig in the Meeting Point on Warmoesstraat between 87 & 92.. Great memories of a great band and a great era in Amsterdam...would love to see play again..
The only band I had the privilege to put on at the three different venues I ran, great band, great memories.
1980 I arrived in Amsterdam a naive 20 year old; very soon discovered The Old Tennis Shoes and thought they were amazing! Lovely people and great music. So many memories of great nights watching you playing at The Last Waterhole - often followed by a few lost hours at The Torenzicht! Fantastic band, wonderful days, special people x

I like a song, I download it. I listen to it a million times and then I hate it. I can't say that about any of OTS' music. How the devil are you ? Long time, no see !!!
Met you guys in the bar at the Esch in Almelo looong time a go, i'm afraid we where very drunk at that time...
Remember OTS from Amsterdam 1979/1980, you played the Bronco bar and I gave Kevin a room in the Sonesta hotel. What a fantastic guitarist and truly nice bloke. Rock on
Nice to peruse your website. I have lots of fond memories of you guys during the 80s as the bassist for the Pride of Texas. I enjoyed seeing Kevin the last time I was in Amsterdam in 2007. Keep on rockin'!
Served you guys more than a few beers 80-82 in the Waterhole. You were my favourite band back then and what a time!
Ben from POT you were an absolute gent and I always enjoyed your company. Wild Turkey all round!
Hey Ben, I remember you very well from that time that you were with the POT Band. You and I spoke a few times as i was working there for John for a short while and eventually ended up living with Uschi. Hope you are well my friend.

I still have you single: 'My old friend'. I've always loved your music!
Wow! I am not the only one who still has an Old Tennis Shoes t shirt. Was it 77 or 78? I saw them lots of times at The Last Waterhole. And ? Also on Texel, party for a parachute club. There was fog raising from the floor. Hello survivers!
